Bangalore to Kozhikode KSRTC bus Travel

I recently went to Kozhikode, Kerala state, from Bangalore via Mysore, Bandipur forest, Muthanga forest, Sultan Bathery and Kalpetta route. The journey started at 11pm from Satellite bus stand Bangalore to Mysore bus first. It was a 3 hours journey late at night due to a few stops and a tea break. I didn't take the super fast bus due to the plenty of night time I have.

I reached Mysore around 3am and waited for the Kozhikode Bus. As soon as I reached there I was expecting another route: Kerala (KSRTC) bus for a change instead of Karnataka (KSRTC) bus. I got Karnataka KSRTC only for Kozhikode ready at that time or I had to wait a few more unconfirmed minutes or hours for Kerala KSRTC bus to get in for either Sultan Bathery or Kozhikode destination.

Once I bought the ticket for Kozhikode from the Karnataka bus and while waiting for the driver to come and start the bus, I saw another bus coming for the Kozhikode destination and that bus was actually from Kerala KSRTC. I really got a little tense seeing it due to early steps being taken by obtaining a ticket and seat from Karnataka KSRTC. It is okay, now my plan has changed to waiting even a few more minutes in case I had to get Kerala KSRTC bus upon returning from Kozhikode.

However, either state buses are nothing less than driving normal roads or forest roads and climbing the mountain or tough terrain etc. Both of them are the best performers. Both the states have organized and professional Transport services.

If I wanted to go to Kozhikode from Bangalore then I have a daily one train option (and rarely in a week two trains option) but that doesn't go on a bus parallel route. Train route is entirely different. For example, if you want to go to Kozhikode by train, you have to get it in either Majestic or Cantonment in Bangalore. It would go via Salem, Palakkad, Shoranur and Kozhikode which is entirely different compared to the Bus route that goes via Mysore, Bandipur and Muthanga Forest, Sultan Bathery and Kalpetta route.

It was a pleasant trip to Kozhikode from both the KSRTC. I like both the Kalpetta - Kozhikode mountains and their drives. You can naturally enjoy the thrill and surprises around. I will briefly stop this post now and will add detail if needed. You can ask any query in the comment section. Thanks for visiting my blog.
